Custom Gift Envelopes for Men

Here in my studio it's finally DIY Gift Season! My boyfriend and I have declared 'No Spend November' so I've decided to get nifty in preparation for the festive season. This project is great because you can use these as a minimalistic advent calendar (similar to this one from A Merry Mishap), or just slip them under the tree OR even hide them in the branches so they double up as decorations with surprise gifts for the gentleman/men in your life. It's very easy to do and it's a great way to recycle your old magazines in a stylish way. Here's what I did to create my custom gift envelopes...

MATERIALS
Double sided tape
Scissors
Marker pen
Envelope templates (I made mine from scratch, using both card & tracing paper)
5. Men's magazine

STEP ONE
Choose an image you like, and trace the envelope template around it, making sure that the image details you want will be on the front of the envelope.

STEP TWO
Cut out the envelope shape, fold the edges and stick them down with double sided tape. You can add a lining inside to make it a bit thicker and look neater.

STEP THREE
Neaten out the edges, and fill your envelope with lots of man-goodies! My envelopes are quite small, so I've chosen small gifts that will fit comfortably inside like these anchor cufflinks, a mini bottle of whiskey, a cigar and a pocket-sized notebook.

    1. Thank you! The Instagram photos don't quite do them justice unfortunately.
